THE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

Admission Policy

Admission is open to candidates from playgroup (one year old) to Junior Secondary School Class Two in this Academic Session

The school will groom her pupils from this into Senior Secondary School. Completion of Nursery and Primary Education is a prerequisite for admission into the Secondary School.

Application into Verbum Dei Academy Secondary and Primary School must be successful at the entrance examination.
Students transferred from other schools must sit for our entrance examination.
Successful candidates will be invited for a screening interview. Candidates from other school shall be required to present their latest result sheet, transfer certificate and transcripts from their former school before admission.

All successful candidates shall present on admission, certificate of medical fitness, 2 recent passport photographs, photocopy of birth certificate
Parents or guardians must complete and submit the school admission form available in the school office.

A personal interview will be held with each applicant. The applicant shall attend the said interview with at least one parent or guardian. The school sticks to the age structure required for entry into each educational level. A children must be 6 years or almost 6 years old as at September before entering grade one.

The school admits students of any race, colour, religion or nationality or ethnic origin, and provides all students with equal access to rights, privileges, programs and activities generally made available by the school.
Parents seeking to enroll their children at Verbum Dei Academy are required to state their primary reason for doing so, with a focus on obtaining a Christian education for their children.

Regular Attendance

Students must attend at least 90% of the school days to receive credit for the academic year. Students are expected to come to school daily unless they are ill or for cogent reasons.

Absence from school must be reported by parents or guardians.
Tardiness: Students who are late more than three times in a month will receive a warning. Continued tardiness may lead to detention or other disciplinary measures.

CODE OF CONDUCT

Students must treat teachers, staff, and peers with respect at all times.
Bullying, harassment, and discrimination of any kind are strictly prohibited and will result in disciplinary action.
Cheating, plagiarism, and other forms of academic dishonesty are not tolerated. Violations may lead to failing grades and further disciplinary measures.

LATE PICK UPS

Parents must come early to pick their children after school to avoid extra charges. Parents who intend to leave their children beyond one hour after closing shall pay/undertake to pay the prescribed school charges

DRESS CODE POLICY

Students must dress neatly in their uniforms. No student is allowed to wear unapproved clothes to school.

Students’ academic history and any other confidential information will be given confidential treatment in the school

The school will only collect data necessary for school operations. Data will be collected from students with parents or guardians’
consent.
